Stretching is not just touching your toes — there are proper methods. I pick the right one for your body, and the right time for it:
Hold it · static
Hold a stretch for 15–60 seconds. Best after a workout, or to slowly build flexibility.
Move it · dynamic
Leg swings, arm circles — stretches that move. The right warm-up before exercise.
Push, then relax · PNF · isometric
Stretch, tighten the muscle, relax, go deeper. The fastest road to flexibility.
With support · active · passive
Your own strength holds the stretch — or a strap, a wall, or my hands take you further.
Bouncing stretches (ballistic) — jerky bounces that force a stretch. An easy way to get injured, so I don’t teach them.
